The Alabama Hills Cafe and Bakery
Lone Pine, CA.
During a recent visit to Death Valley National Park I spent four nights in Lone Pine (last minute plans meant “no room” in the Park Lodges). The hotel recommended the Alabama Hills Cafe for breakfast, and what a fantastic place.
The variety on the menu was superb and there were two daily specials – and I usually chose one of these. The food was cooked to perfection, the portions generous, the waitresses cordial and the ambiance truly enhanced by the many local folks enjoying their breakfast. The locals and staff were eager to converse with the visitors and provided a lot of insight and information of the area.
By the way, the bakery pastries, cheese & jalapeno rolls, etc were also excellent (but breakfast did me all day!)
When in town, I will always breakfast there. The Cafe has plans to open for dinner in the evenings – breakfast and dinner, you wouldn’t need anything else to eat all day!
I wonder what the lyrics were? Maybe you will get to enjoy breakfast here one day – it is sooo good!
